After a grueling 16 hour flight to the USA, Karel and Jinel from Bredenkamp Attorneys landed in Orlando, Florida, for the 138th INTA conference. Jetlag did not catch the better of them as they enjoyed downtown Orlando and Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on their first day in the Sunshine State.

After the fun that was had riding Space Mountain and watching Disney’s Electric Parade under the magic castle, it was on to conferencing mode. Karel and Jinel enjoyed attending a number of receptions held by firms from across the globe. The pair went from sipping champagne at the Ritz Carlton, to winning their hands at blackjack and roulette at a Spanish firm’s function, to sharing tapas with partner boutique law firms at Café Tu Tu Tango on Orlando’s renowned I-Drive.

However, the conference was not all parties and games. Despite Jinel maneuvering around Orlando on crutches, the two Bredenkamp representatives had a packed schedule of meetings with old contacts, current clients, and a number of new firms. As Bredenkamp Attorneys begins to spread its reach and network internationally, the INTA conference provided a sound platform to develop new partnerships with firms from countries whose collaborative opportunities were previously under-explored.

After returning to South Africa, both Karel and Jinel are very optimistic for what the future holds for Bredenkamp Attorneys. The firm is looking forward to being able to offer its local clients a wider variety of solutions for their international IP needs, and to building up Bredenkamp’s reputation as a high quality boutique IP law firm that can represent international clients throughout Africa.
